- ParaMenu installs a menu that lets you:
- -- Toggle 1-sec or no delay when sending a line w/CR;
- -- Toggle the Supercharger;
- -- Toggle the Enable CIS B Protocol.
- It's not a big deal, although it speeds things slightly when you're
- figuring how you want to download the next file. It's primarily of use
- to CIS junkies.
-
- I wrote this procedure because during a heated downloaded session,
- I often change my mind about how I want to recieve. I like to
- grab short files with RR's Supercharger -- I find it to be unexpectedly
- efficient. In fact, I once accidentally started downloading an 80k
- file with the Supercharger on -- from Alaska to Wyoming, mind you --
- and had the whole thang pass without error.
-
- The Delay toggles PUTPARAM 500,n which Scott Watson wrote into version
- _10.3._ This adds a one-second delay after each carriage return so
- CIS won't freak out should you OD on CRs -- say, in CO. The ON procedure
- is but one line: PUTPARAM 500,1. You can write a new procedure to read, say,
- PUTPARAM 500,2 for a two-second delay, ad infinitum. But the prodedure
- has to be of the same name as the old. WILL THIS WORK ON EARLIER RRs?
- I think not.
-
- The seven supplied procs are PUTPARAM one-liners. RR's 10.0 documentation
- tells you everything about 'em if you want to make changes.
- SC is the supercharger, CISB is you-know-what, and SQ (squelch) is the
- one-second delay. ParaMenu.off links to Menu Off. Wonder of wonders.
-
- ********The ParaMenu file needs to be compiled into a procedure;
- ********before you do that open it and type needed info: mainly, you
- need to replace YourVolume with the strings needed so RR knows
- where to look. If you don't RR will give you a grumpy box saying so.
- Make sure all files go into the same folder/disk, of course.
-
- If this mess blows up your hard disk or turns your WORM drive into a
- WART (wobble and retch tremendously), sorry. It's my first upload ever.
- But it works fine on my old 512. If anyone can spiff this conglomeration
- into fewer files (surely there is a way) please have at it.
-
- Yours ever so truly,
